Choosing where to stay around Cabarete depends less on finding the “best” area and more on what you want from your trip.
Kite Beach puts you close to kitesurfing and Cabarete itself. Encuentro has a friendly surf community and is particularly nice for families and longer stays. Sea Horse Ranch offers more privacy, space and security in a gated residential setting.

Farther west, Sea Horse Ranch offers a very different experience.
It is one of the North Coast's most established gated residential communities, known for its high level of security, controlled access and private residential setting. For travelers who place particular importance on security and privacy, Sea Horse Ranch is one of the strongest options in the area.
Rather than being surrounded by the activity of Cabarete, you're staying in a quiet, carefully maintained residential community and driving when you want to go out.
It's particularly well suited to families and groups who value security, privacy and space and prefer a full villa over being able to walk everywhere.
